Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the Stachy app and website. By placing an order you agree to them.

1. What Stachy is

Stachy connects you with local shops — grocery stores, bakeries and cloud kitchens — in the areas we serve. You send an order, the shop prepares it, and you collect it yourself or have it delivered where delivery is available.

We are a marketplace. We do not own the shops, hold the stock, cook the food or set the prices. The shop you order from is the seller.

The areas we serve are shown in the app and change as we grow. If your address is not covered, the app says so before you order.

2. Your account

You need an account to order. It is created with your mobile number and a one-time code sent by SMS.

You are responsible for keeping access to that number. Anyone who can receive your SMS can sign in as you.

You must be 18 or older to use Stachy.

3. Placing an order

How an order is priced depends on the kind of shop:

  • Groceries. You send a list in your own words. The shop prices it against what is actually on their shelves, and the total appears on your order before you collect.
  • Bakery. You choose the item and its options, and the price is shown before you pay.
  • Food from a cloud kitchen. The kitchen publishes its menu prices, and you pay the listed price.

An order is a request until the shop accepts it. A shop may decline, or may be unable to supply part of a list — anything unavailable is struck through on your order.

4. Paying

What you pay up front depends on the kind of order:

  • Groceries — a booking amount of ₹50, never more than the order itself. The balance is paid to the shop when you collect.
  • Bakery — a booking amount of ₹100, never more than the order itself. The balance is paid to the shop when you collect.
  • Food from a cloud kitchen — the full menu price, paid up front. Nothing is owed at the counter.

Our own charge is ₹5 per order, shown as its own line before you pay. Where delivery is used, a delivery fee of ₹15 applies and is charged up front.

We never mark up or discount a shop's prices. Goods cost what the shop charges.

Online payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details.

5. Collecting your order

Every order carries a four-digit code. Show it at the counter and the shop hands the order over. Anyone you send may collect on your behalf with that code.

A shop may ask you to confirm the code before handing over goods. That check exists to protect your order, not to inconvenience you.

6. Cancelling

You may cancel free of charge until a shop accepts your order.

After a shop has accepted, 10% of what you have paid is retained, capped at ₹150 and never more than you actually paid. This covers work the shop has already done. See the Refund Policy for the full detail.

7. Selling on Stachy

If you use the Stachy Partner app to sell, the Seller Agreement applies to you in addition to these terms.

8. What we are responsible for

We are responsible for running the platform: taking your order to the shop, handling the payment we collect, and giving you a way to raise a problem.

We are not the seller. Quality, weight, freshness and preparation are the shop's responsibility. Where something is wrong with an order, tell us and we will take it up with the shop — see the Refund Policy for what can be put right.

**The shop packs your order, not us.** We do not pack it, repack it, open it or supply the bag or box it comes in. What a rider carries, or what you collect from a counter, is exactly what the shop sealed.

Our Seller Agreement requires every shop to use packaging that is lawful, including the rules on plastic thickness and on banned single-use plastic items. We do not inspect packaging, so if an order arrives in something that should not have been used, tell us and we will take it up with the shop.

We aim to keep Stachy running but do not guarantee it will always be available. We may change or withdraw features.

9. Using Stachy properly

Do not use Stachy to place orders you do not intend to collect, to abuse shop staff or riders, or to interfere with the service. We may suspend an account that does.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of Hyderabad.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect, and you will be asked to accept them.
